Billing Fees:

Medical Centre:

BULK BILLED (general consultations)

Childhood Immunisations:

All childhood immunisations are Bulk Billed.

Wound Dressings:

Dressings incur an out of pocket cost, varying between $5.00 – $20.00.

Surgical Procedures:

Surgical procedures incur an out-of-pocket cost, varying between $50.00 – $160.00.


Main Street Medical and Skin Centre operates on appointment based consultations.

You can now book your appointments online and through the HealthEngine app. Please be sure to book a long appointment if you have multiple concerns.

Emergency and urgent cases will be seen on the day. Our trained staff will triage the urgency based on the presenting condition.

“Walk-ins” will be offered the next available appointment where possible.

Booking a Long Appointment

To provide you with the most comprehensive care and time for your needs, please let our reception staff know when booking an appointment, if….

  • you will be discussing multiple clinical issues
  • you need a consult for a complex health issue
  • you have Insurance or Work Cover Claims
  • you require a Pre-Employment Medical
  • if more than one person needs to see the Doctor

This will reduce waiting time and increase the quality of care we can provide to our patients.


Please notify reception if you are unable to keep your appointment or are running late. 24 hours advance notice is much appreciated.

We operate an email reminder service the day before your appointment for your convenience, this also allows our doctors to keep appointments as efficient as possible and allow for changes you may require.


Free parking is available around our clinic –

1 hour parking in Main St., Lilydale
2 hour parking in Castella St., 30 metres to the east of the practice
All-day parking is available in Market St, which comes off Castella St.

Access to Health Information

Provision of access to health information incurs a fee. This fee depends on the level of access desired and the time involved.

Transferring an Individual’s Health Information to another Health Service Provider

There is a fee for transferring patient histories to another clinic.

Telephoning Your Doctor

For emergency telephone advice from your Doctor, please call reception. Our staff are trained and experienced in helping triage whether the matter requires a phone consultation with the doctor, or whether an appointment, or a return phone call from the practice is appropriate.

Patient Reminders

Main Street Medical Centre participates in National and State Health Information Registers (e.g the Childhood Immunisation Register and the Victorian Cytology Register).

In conjunction with our own recall system we provide patient reminders that will be sent to you for your continuity of care i.e pap smears, vaccinations, health assessments, medication reviews, etc.

Test Results

It is the policy of the clinic for the patient to book a follow-up consultation for the collection of results. This will be explained to you in your first consultation.

In the case of urgent or abnormal results, the clinic will contact you by telephone to book an appointment at your next convenience. If the clinic cannot contact you via telephone, a letter will be sent advising your recall details.

Under no circumstances will results be given over the telephone. An appointment must be booked at the clinic at which your test results will be provided to you.


It is the policy of this practice to maintain the security of personal health information at all times. We value your privacy and your information is only available to authorised staff members. Should you feel this is compromised in any way, please consult our Practice Manager. Keeping your information secure is a top priority for us.

Main Street Medical complies with the Health Records Act (Victoria 2001), the Privacy Act (Commonwealth 1988) and the Health Services (Conciliation and Review) Act 1995.

Should privacy be needed by a waiting patient, due to stress or discomfort, please speak to reception and we can accommodate your needs.

At Main Street Medical we strive to provide a high quality service. Should you have a concern regarding any aspect of your care please discuss this with your doctor or the practice manager.

We believe that all concerns are best dealt with within the practice.

However, in the event the matter cannot be resolved you may elect to contact the Health Complaints Commissioner (HCC) on 1300 582 113 or The HCC resolves complaints about health services and the handling of health information in Victoria. Their service is free and impartial.
